The coaches used for this transfer are parked outside the arrival hall at the airport and are marked "Flybus". The Flybus will ultimately stop at BSI bus terminal, you will then be redirected to smaller shuttles that will take you to your accommodation. Check-in at your hotel (most hotels begin check-in around 2:00 pm). If your flight lands early, you can join the optional horseback riding tour or enjoy your day at leisure. Reykjavík got its name “Smokey Bay” after the columns of steam that rose from the hot springs in the area and made such a deep impression on the first settlers. Reykjavik offers a multitude of restaurants and/or coffee-houses, making dinner a great way to get better acquainted with Iceland's capital.

Get to know the Icelandic horse and its characteristic tolt gait, while riding through the lava fields around Mt. Helgafell or Lake Hvaleyrarvatn. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced riders. This tour offers an adventurous ride through the lava fields around Mt. Helgafell or Lake Hvaleyrarvatn. The Icelandic Horse is unique to the country of Iceland, bred since the settlement in isolation from the outside world. Enjoy its smooth riding qualities, namely the tolt gait. Ride through rough lava fields and look at different rock formations, maybe you will be able to spot a troll or two. The beautiful Blafjoll mountains tower above on the horizon.
This tour includes: Non-guided coach transfer to & from the stables, guided riding tour, riding helmets, rubber boots, rainwear or warm outfit (depending on the season) during the ride.
Please note that you cannot take any backpacks or bags with you on the ride, but there are safety boxes at the stables where you can store your valuables. Pickup takes place approx. 60 minutes before the tour starts. Drop off after day tours may sometimes not be right in front of your hotel/guesthouse due to narrow streets and actual coach size used during the tour.
The tour takes in all the key landmarks, such as The Pearl, Hallgrimskirkja church, the harbor and the famous 101 Reykjavik neighborhood. Reykjavik's unique proximity to nature - with the Salmon River Ellidaa, a thermal beach at Nautholsvik, green valleys and outdoor swimming pools - makes a city tour unforgettable. The afternoon is open to your inspiration- we suggest a visit to one of the many museums or art galleries around the city. For instance, The National Museum of Iceland, Reykjavik Art Museum and the Settlement Exhibition. We also suggest to visit the Blue Lagoon this afternoon for relaxation.

Whales are beautiful animals and one of nature’s most extraordinary sights. The experienced guides on board will share with you their wealth of knowledge on the whales, as well as passing on some interesting facts and old sea stories about encounters with these magnificent creatures. The whales round these parts are not shy, often surfacing quite close to the boat, and, as our sea-fairing guides will tell you, to see a whale up close truly is a sight to remember. There is over 90% viewing success (if you are in the unlucky few percent, you get another tour for free).
